A Step by Step Process by Chuck Becker, Instructor
The class will be oil or arylic painting. The student may decide which medium he prefers. Each class will be a 3 and 1/2 hours session, fee is $25 for each class.
Each student will be required to bring their own supplies: canvases, oil or acrylics paint, brushes, turpenoid for oil painters. A photograph for reference or used as an inspiration will be needed.

Monica Huff has taught oil, acrylic, watercolor , ceramics and clay sculpture in Bogata, Columbia. She developed a love of art at an early age when her father brought her first art kit. She is an active member of Cookeville Art and will be teaching 3 classes: Watercolor classes on Tuesdays, Adult Ceramic classes on Wednesdays, Please see our Calendar of Events for times. Terri Ritter grew up in Sarasota, Florida which gave her a chance to be part of the magnificent art in and around town. With John Ringling Art Museum and the John Ringling School of Art in her backyard, she was exposed to the wonderful world of art. Terri loves to teach art to the young and old alike. Paintings shown are either alcohol ink or acrylic pours.

The following classes are taught by Adele Seitzinger, who has Tennessee licensure and 20+ years experience teaching art in schools and private classes. Please check our “Calendar of Events” page for days, times and fees for the classes.
The Young at Art classes have become a fixture at the Cookeville Art Studio and Gallery on Mondays. This class is designed for students in grades 1-8. Every other month we focus on drawing. In between, we work with different media like acrylics, watercolors, pastels, colored pencils and more. Each session includes instruction and all supplies. Family discount for 3 or more.
Art 411 is a class for students to gain information about various art media and to develop skills and techniques using those media. It is designed for beginning to intermediate artists, ages high school through adult. No previous experience required. Art 411 is an ongoing class that began meeting in 2017 every Wednesday. Class includes all supplies and instructions Examples of media that are taught and studied are basics of drawing, watercolors, acrylic painting, collage & mixed media, printmaking, bookmaking and pastels.
High School Art is an ongoing class that is designed for high school aged students. It is an outgrowth of the Young At Art class, although no previous experience is necessary. Each month a different media is considered and practiced. It meets on Monday evenings. Each session includes instruction & all supplies. Family discount for 3 or more.
